Anyone know if lifting harness is available from whaler, or of anyone who makes them aftermarket.

I never used a harness - just hooked to the lifting eyes and picked 'em up - 2 13s, 2 17s, and an 18.6 Outrage. I guess you mean for the back - 2 cables going to one lift point? If so, you could make your own - go to hardware store and buy the cable, hooks and cable clamps. Can probably make one for less than $15 Best, Maverick

My dealer had one made up for me. Three
cables, one to the front, two to the back,
joined on a big steel ring, all stainless
except the ring.

What size whaler are you going to lift? If it is a 16' 7", let me know and I will measure my bridle for you. I lift my Nausets in and out all the time. Works great.

I will be lifting and towing my Montauk often. Just yesterday I contacted a gentleman about making some stainless backing plates for the bow eye (inside & out) to reinforce the area. I know that the standard eye is satisfactory but I thought that a reinforcement would not hurt. He is going to form the plates to fit the hull exactly. They are going to cost about $100 with shipping.

If any of you are interested in having a set for your boat now is the time to contact him so he can make all of them at once. Email me if you would like to order a set and I will give you his contact information. Rex

If you live nearby a boat yard, check with
a rigging shop, most like a rigging shop
for sail boat, they can make a cable harnness for less than $250 (I think) or check this catalog:

www.mcmaster.com, look for boat sling.
