I am proud to say that I bought my first Whaler after wanting one for about 30 years. It's a 1984 15' in great shape. The console and pilot seat have been modified somewhat by a marine carpenter who did a great job! (all mahagony, with color and grain matching the original). I had the boat out last weekend on the South Shore of Long Island, NY and it flies with the 70 hp Yamaha. Looking forward to many seasons of fun. By the way, how can I tell which model it is? |

It's an 84, look at the pics in reference. If it has the original console & seats with rail it's a sport ect. |

Whaleryo, Your question, "How can I tell which model [of 15-foot Whaler] it is?" leads me to wonder if you have explored the rest of the website beyond the FORUM. I am sure a few minutes reading http://continuouswave.com/whaler/reference/15/models.html will enable identification of the particular model of Whaler. |

I did check out much of this site - it's great! I just wasn't quite sure what a "thwart seat" was. Subsequently I did find "Sport" on the mfg plate and the tag on the mooring cover. The main purpose of my original post was brag about my purchase! |
