I am officially an addict now (my wife has been saying this for weeks since I check this site out daily). We just purchased a 1988 13' Super Sport, but have to wait until Friday to pick her up. This is in addition to the 22' Revenge that is undergoing restoration work. I think I have been going through Whaler withdrawals since I can't have the big boy back for at least another three weeks. So now I am a multiple Whaler owner (two boats in less than a year). My wife says therapy is imminent.

Congratulations! If she thinks you're a multiple Whaler owner, just tell her she's lucky she's not married to Clark Roberts!!

Like quantum steps and electron orbits, there are certain stable numbers of Whalers to own.

Zero is a stable number.
Two is a stable number.

One seems to be an unstable configuration of Whaler ownership.

I have to agree with Jim's statement. I recently got a 65 13' to keep my montauk company. Had the montauk out on sunday to make sure it is running okay for next weekend. A long weekend on ocracoke island! (outer banks, N.C.) Update on my $450 13'- the motor started with about 10 pulls on the trailer so I launched it with the 2 boys and it ran great in neutral and at 1/2 throttle but bogged at high rpm in gear so I think I need to clean the carb. I'm really glad it ran- it looks like the motor has very low hrs.
