I saw [a Boston Whaler MISCHIEF] boat for sale. I have never heard of a Mischief before. Does anyone know anything about this model? |

There was one for sale in Galveston for a long, long time. I don't know if they are all red but this one certainly was. You could see the Whaler hull underneath but that was about all that was recognizable. Rex |

There used to be a few of these moored in some of the salt ponds around Orleans (Cape Cod). As I recall, they are a 15 hull with a fiberglass deck dropped on top. I think it was Whaler's attempt at the ski-boat and runabout market. They were available in both red or white gelcoat, and actually looked pretty nifty if you took them for what they were--not a fishing boat. |

They are little miniature Temptations, and were designed by the same guy Boston Whaler brought in in 1986 to try to enter the go-fast market. The red one was the 30th anniversary model. Temptations were sold 1987 to 1989 and Mischief's 1988 to 1989. |

The Mischief was made from 1989 to 1990; they made 24 white, 72 tan, and 139 red. |

One just popped up in Florida, are they worth anything? |

Nevek. It's a Whaler. All Whalers have value. |

I would certainly like to have one but it would have to be local and cheap. I have one project Whaler but find the Mischief to be an appealing boat to run around with in the shallow water of Little Lagoon in Gulf Shores, AL. Butch |

The Mischief is a beautiful boat, but has very little usable space. Look at the top view of a Mischief. The bow, stern and inside the gunnel are covered with fiberglass for style. You have about 1/3 the usable space of a classic 15. One of the great things about classic Whalers is how much usable space you get for the size. |

If Jim will let me post the link to another forum, there is a fun thread from a 15' Mischief owner talking about his fun outings in his neat little boat out on Long Island sound one chilly November. It's got pictures and video... granted, a lot of it is video shot from the Mischief of other (faster) boats but still. If not, email me and I'll email you back the link. You do not have to be a member of that forum to read it and look at the pictures and video. One of the boats the MIschief owner refers to and shows pictures of is the Hydrostream Viper of which I have one of the only ones I know of on the west coast, by the by. The guy in the thread is clearly stoked on his Boston Whaler Mischief and the compliments are returned, even from guys with faster boats. -Peter |

Butch. There is a red one hanging from a lift at the Fowl River boat launch. Saw it today as a matter of fact. |

I don't get over to the Fowl River often, but I'll be looking for that Mischief when I'm there. Thanks. Butch |
