Is the Temptation on E-bay a good deal or not. I've never seen one, but kinda looks neat to me...

Lets assume I say its a great deal.
Assuming that, will you really buy it based on what others say?
Maybe if I tell you I saw one for five hundred dollars,so dont pay any more than that.
Lets assume that you read a article in a magazine that says these models will appreciate 50 percent in the next year.
Based on all of these assumptions, will they really change YOUR mind. I would bet not, after all only the buyer of any product knows what a GOOD deal is to them and only them.
If you like the boat and would pay the asking price to see it in your garage vs theirs, buy it!

Not to confuse Sam's question,
Here's my humble opinion:
The fact that it has been exposed for all the world to see, and nobody has bid, confirms its not a good deal. A good deal is something that you buy that retains most of its value or even appreciates over time (while you have fun using it). A good deal in my mind is something that once purchased, you could turn around if necessary and sell for what you paid for it (and have invested), or close to it. At least thats how I justify things to my wife! You can't ever confirm what a good deal you got until you try and sell it (or have a firm offer) and find out what its really worth.
From a buyer perspective: there are three categories of pricing:
A steal (great deal)(something is bought at below market value)
Average (good deal)(something is bought at the "going rate")
High (bad deal)(something is bought at a premium price, or above the average)
(Again, My opinion): Stuff on ebay sells at a steal-average if it sells at all. Noboby bid, so its "high"!

I saw that Temptation on Ebay, too. I think it would be a nice boat to own -- As long as the hull and trailer are in very good condition. I like the fact that it doesn't come with an engine. Price an engine with installation and then decide what to do. When your done -- boat 7,000 (assuming you can get it for this price -- I think this boat has been advertised before), add 11,000 or so for engine and extras, and you're in it for 18K plus taxes -- if this works for you, great. Good luck.
