Hi -

My newly acquired 16/17 Whaler is titled as a 1965. The number stenciled into the bow locker is 3033X (last number withheld) which makes it a 1962/1963 (my vintage - yikes!).

I know that in the 60's car dealers titled vehicles based on the year sold, so some models will be tittle a few years from the actual manufacture date. Was this also the case with boats?

Since I am in the PNW and the Whalers reputation was not yet what it is now, is it possible that this boat was sitting in a dealer's yard for a couple of years?

How do I contact BW to find out it's original configuration (curiosity only since this will not be a restoration boat)

E-mail Boston Whaler at with your hull ID number and they will do the rest.
