I have cranked in my friend's 17 Wellcraft with a 100 hp all in the 1800 range much easier than my 13. The winch on the 13 is old (Shelly 900 lb cap) I want to replace even though it doesn't seem to be the problem. Qusetion why so tough to retrieve, what winch is best for a 13, should the bunk rollers be replaced with carpets, Am I not going in far enough, By the way the rollers spin free so that is not the problem. Thanks

I would step up to a Dutton 1300# or 1400# winch. Your 900# is about a 3.2:1 ratio the larger winch will be 4.5:1 ratio and make cranking much easier.
