When I bought my Montauk yesterday I was asking my dealer, Russo Marine here in MA about canvas options. To my suprise they still use, reccommend & install Mills! Gave me a pretty good deal on a bimini installed.

Actually very close to price I was quoted from Leslie at Mills if I were to buy direct and install myself.

Canvas has to wait for a while though. Still need to decide about bimini v.s. flytop. Will make a good winter project for next season.

I have been away from the dealership for over a year now, but I had so many problems with Great Lakes, the primary BW supplier that I also offerd Mills as an option. Cheaper is good if the quality is there and it fits, if it doesn't it's just cheap.

I was not offered a choice of canvas suppliers when I ordered my 2000 Ventura 16 so it came with Great Lakes canvas. I sure wish I had known that the option existed to order Mills canvas. The Great Lakes bimini top is o.k....but the cockpit mooring covers (aft and bow sections) don't fit very well, have seams and snaps in odd places and are already fading...not a very impressive product.

My advice...if you are ordering a new Whaler...skip the factory canvas and order from Mills (either through your dealer or direct)!
