Where can I find the s/n on a 16 hull? I have an older Sakonnet model and am trying to determine its year of mfg. Also the console has a seat built in front which appears to be original. Was that an option? May save console. Reverse seat is sawdust. Thank you. New member please excuse novice errors.

I found my serial # on the inside of the transom engine well. I understand that it is stencils in the forward locker as well, but on my boat it was not possible to see it there. Hope this helps.

Yes, the forward seat attached to the console was a BW option.

The forward seat on the nauset, Eastport and Sakonnet were built onto the forward base of the console. I jut rebuilt one and had to use the plans from Classic Whaler for a new base. It takes 3 #10 SS oval screws for each side of the base to attach the forward seat. You can gert the plans for the rev. seat from Classic Whaler too. The forward seat is the right size to keep a portable 6 gal temo tank under and out fo the way. Good Luck with the project.

Serial numbers should be in the transom facing the back of console, printed in white, centered about where the engine bracket mounts should be.

Thanks for the help. Found it 3A1910. Makes it a 1970.
