What is the shape of the McKee 17 hulls compared to the whaler's. Quality?

I owned a 16’ McKee and then sold it to my brother. He still uses it to fish out of. I have never owned a Whaler (hope to soon), but if Whalers are made as well as Mckees than, Whalers are very good boats. Mckee’s are very well made boats. Like a whaler, it had a trihull shape in the bow to the transom. Very stable boat. Mckee does make v boats that are not like whalers and ride better in rough water. Check out

Great boats. Not a whaler but in some ways better. They are cheaper and heavier. They do not have the "cult status" of whalers but are a better bang for the buck. I was looking at a 2001 17' with a 115 Johnson for around 13K. Hell a 17 whaler is closer to 23k. Want a decent 14 Mckee?

i am not afmiliar with the bigger ones. the 14 weighs 660lbs and the 16 0r 17 wieighs in at almost 1500. The 14 I have is very solid and rides quite well. It is almost like an old 16 whaler but narrower and lower freeboard. Take a ride, I think they are nice. If I was a peson that HAD to buy new, I would seriously consider them. The Edgewater and Whaler are about the same in price or I would consider them but might as well buy a Whaler.
