There is a Classic Whaler Owners Association working out of North Carolina. A subsciption will get you a quarterly news letter. I think the gentleman who runs it is Jim Knight. (BTW, they have a great T shirt for sale)Is his group affiliated with this page at all?

And for the past year I have been e-mailing him about some plans I bought and some missing back issues with no response. I think it was too much for him to handle and he went belly up. If anyone has been able to contact him, please let me know. I would sure like him to complete my order since I did pay him in full!

I sent a request for information to him at James.Knight@ncmail.net on 5/12/01 and received a reply several days later. Brochure on the organization and membership application arrived about a week later. Since then, no contact. In his email response he said the organization was not affiliated with the Classic Whaler Forum, but they were frequent contributors.

Well, then he must be posting here under an alias. I'm sure everyone is happy to have his knowledge and ideas.

I contacted Jim via phone last month when I was trying to find a montauk (which I now happily own). He told me he had a fire and lost everything. He is starting over and promised his letter was forth coming.
When can this group get a cool T-shirt? Any ideas?

The Oncologists of Florida will thank you
for T-shirts. Polos have a collar that
proctects you neck from the sun. And a lot

I know this is probably out of line, and for that I beg everyone's indulgence. I also don't mean to stir the pot. But, perhaps a letter writing campaigne to BW suggesting the Classic Whaler Forum become the "official" voice of a Classic Whaler Organization? I'm not sure how JimH feels about that or what would be involved; I'll leave that to you "experts." Considering the vast knowlege of many of you on the board, however, I believe that to be reasonable proposal and one that is for the good of the company. Does one need to print a mailable newsletter to be an organization? I think not. From my study of ALL the posts contained within this forum, I think there are about a dozen of you guys who could get together and make it happen. Heck, I'd be willing to forward the $15 annual membership dues to this group in a heartbeat! I'm out of this discussion now.

The autonomy of this site makes the information on this site more believable. People can voice their opinions not the party line of some corporate entity. Kudos to Jim -- the site couldn't be better.
