I recently acquired a 13 whaler with 40 Merc with no T+T. I have a CMC PT130 that I got with another boat. The electric motor on the T+T is shot. I was thinking of mounting the CMC unit on the Whaler but before I send it back to CMC for a rebuild I wondered if ther is any experience with that combination her in Whaler land. Any experience with performance or other comments would be appreciated. thanks JIM

i don't have the same combination you want , but similar, i have a 40 hp yamaha with power t/t, it is mounted on the cmc 2 piece jackplate w/ 4"setback [20] lbs, cause about 2" stern down problem, bow up a lot, have to rise the seat 1 1/4" put tank and battery under, your cmc pt130 should be 32 lbs. with 5"setback, that mean your motor + pt130 will little more heavy than mine, you will have the same problem like mine, and you can call cmc about your pt 130 problem , they will till you how much and send you the replacement motor, hope this help,

Jim, I think you will like the set-up and will enjoy the t&t but may have to adjust some weight fwd.. don't know where your fuel and battery are located... go for it! And raise the engine as mentioned above! The CMC electrics seem to have motor brush problems... Happpy Whalin'... Clark
