The Pate Gas tanks are the fiberglass ones??
If so, is it possible to buy them somewhere in the red or white?? I have been trying to find out for some time.
Thank You

Made in Miami. Mine is a matching tan fiberglass and it is 27 Gals. In 1990 it was a $300 option. I would assume around $400 for a new one or less. Tempo makes a plastic for around $105. A nice alternative.

Yes, Pate makes fiberglass tanks. The are available in desert tan but I think they have other colors available. Rex

Rumors are they sell direct.

They do come in white. I've never seen a
red one (the red tanks are generally Tempo).

whatever you do don't get a tempo tank. i got one last august and recently started having problems w/ water in my gas tank. turns out that one of the gaskets on the tank broke after only 10 months and every night when the tank cooled off it would suck in any water that had collected on the poorly designed tank (indentation on top allowed water to collect). bottom line is that the boat was in the shop 3 times for nearly 2 months before we got this all figured out. had to rebuild the carbs too. just bought a 27 gallon white pate for $430. you can probably find a better price (i didn't shop around b/c i wanted to get the boat up and running for this past weekend).

I had a red 27 gallon pate on my 87 montauk. I think the only colors they make now are white and tan. I think they are way better than the tempo. I never had a problem with it.

I believe with the 27 gallon Pate the standard tank mats have to be removed in order to make it fit correctly! Is this in fact the case? If so, I know Pate makes a 24 gallon tank that will fit directly over the pads.

Nope! I have the 2 12 gal pads under my 27.

I have a 21 gallon red Pate OEM on my '81 Montauk. I finally got a stress crack and a slow leak that I seemed to have fixed successfuly. I called Pate re: repair of tank and they could do that for around $75-$100, by cutting off base and putting on a new one. BUT they don't do RED. RED Pate tanks are classic.
