I am still holding on to my 22' OR. I keep her at my camp in a hoist. She is on a cradle under her. It is an alum. one w/ bunk boards w/ no carpet or anything on them. The cardle was for a Grady but she sits on it ok. I cannot find anyone to adapt it to fit her. I have no manual to describe proper hoisting w/ The eyes on transom/bow and would rather not go that way. A dealer here in Louisiana said it is ok to use straps as long as they are wide 10 "min. There are numerous Whalers around mine from classics to contemp. 28' ORs .. All are kept in hoists w/ Straps. What are the consequences with doin it this way? Is it really that bad?
thanks,
DDG

Personally I would keep it on the lift with the bunks. Cover them with bunk carpet and adjust them to fit your boat. IMO straps are a pain.Shay
