I have a 98 Montauk. This weekend, I pulled the bilge pump to clean the bilge area. I noticed a seam where the pipe that runs from the console area to the bilge well did not fit flush. There is a small space (.020 to .030) at this juncture. Does anyone know if BW seals the "underside - the area not exposed to you" with either fiberglass or 5200 prior to assembly? Has anyone else notice this on their boat? I want to be sure moisture is not getting into the hull.

Haven't noticed but will take a look at mine and let you know.

My '99 was the same way. I couldn't tell if it was sealed well or not. I loaded it with sealer all the way around just in case. Also was true at the front where the tunnel meets the deck. I loaded that one up too. Needed or not, I don't know, but a little sealer now is cheap insurance against wet foam.

Thanks, I cleaned this area really well and there is a black sealant between the two pieces. However I will take your advice and seal carefully. Just in case.
