I have an old 13'(I think about '66). It has been painted. If it is still under the paint, where would the hull ID # be located?

My 69 13" whaler has it's id # below where the motor mounts to the transom. Thing is, its paint itself, so to much or to strong of a stripper and you might lose it. Cant say that 66 was the same, but thats where I would look first, good luck, shawn

Mine was just above the "step" in the middle of the transom where the motor mounts. Mine is a '66 also. Rather than stripper, try sanding using a random orbit sander with about 150 grit paper. That way you can control the cut. Regular paint stripper can soften the glass and gel coat. Alternative is to use Interlux 299E stripper, but if all you want to do is find serial number, it is quite pricey.
