Engine Installation w/internal Throttle Cables

I just purchased a 1988 oil injected 40 hp yamaha in perfect condition. However, when I brought it home, I discovered that all of the throttle cables had been disconnected. Up until this time, I have only owned 25-35 hp Evinrudes, all of which were hooked up on the exterior of the engine. I got all the electric cables hooked up, but am having tremendous difficulty with the two throttle cables that control direction and speed. How, what, and where do these cables hook up?
Also, I bought this engine knowing that it had previously been on a center console and that the throttle handle was on the wrong side and would not immediately be able to be screwed onto the sideboard of my 1983 13' Sport. It looks as though I can simply undo a screw in the middle, and switch it to the other side. Is this true?

Brad, the throttle handle should be reversable... get some help with the cable hook-up at engine as both cables must be adjusted (shift for neutral and throttle for idle..).. not hard to do the second time but the first ??? maybe..good luck .. clark.. Spruce Creek Navy
