I recently saw an 18 outrage with the Super Console, (the tall one) I think it is reffered to as the super console but i may be wrong. Was this tall console an option on the 18. I have only seen it in the past on 22 and 25's. Thanks.

Your may be looking at a possible Super 35" console with an electronics box to make it "tall", but I doubt it since it was not an option for an 18, however Whaler did allow some exceptions assuming it would fit! More likely the standard console with the box added. Also, there was the SC 40" console hardly think would add it to a 18 OR ;)--- usually only the 25 OR for this one --

Doug Burton has the Super Console on his '86 Outrage 18. I believe it was factory installed on that boat.

According to the sales brochures and manual (courtesy of lhg) I have on the 18OR from '85, the Super Console was absolutely an option. I have never seen one in person, but from the pictures and comments from others who have seen them, they appear to out of scale to the rest of the boat. Now a big burly 25OR would probably be perfect.

Well not sure anything in life is absolute! However, the 35" SC wasn't offered in '87,'88 or '89 for an 18 OR! So if you have one on your 18 OR feel lucky and probably cramped! You won't see many 18's with them.

On the 20' OR the SC 35" was an option in '87 only with Whaler Drive -- the cost was in the area of $4000 over the Standard Console. The electronics' box cost another $400 --

Whaler would sometimes do whatever the customer wanted whether the ideas were screwy or sane --- if of course it would fit and not jeopardize the integrate of the boat
!! :)

The 27 was the only model the 35" SC came standard on -- a 40" model was option on the 27 ccc we have at present, with the optional electronics box.

I have a 1986 18' Outrage with the super console. The extra storage is nice but it does make it more difficult to get to the bow. I would prefer the smaller console. Mills does not manufacture a mooring cover for the boat due to its unusual combination. You definitely have to stand to operate the boat.
