I plan to fish mainly on the cheseapeak bay. I am thinking about buying a whaler in the 20-22 foot range. I am leaning towards an outrage model for smoother ride deeper v etc. I want to purchase a used boat. What would be a price range for well kept 1998 21 foot or a 22 foot whaler outrage with the largest outboard motor, trailer, and the usual quality electronics. i know this is a hard question but i just want to get a range thnaks ron POs if you would recommend another model please let me know. Thanks again

Ron, a good place to start is run a search on boat trader on line. You can narrow your search down to year, size, make and price. I think that the O/R is a great boat but it will be rather expensive. Regards, Jay P.S. you can also get a price from NADA but their always low on Whalers.

I have been running a 1996 24' Outrage for two years and find it well suited for the Chesapeake. I also take it tuna fishing off Ocean City several times a year. They seem to sell from the mid 30's to mid 40's well equiped and I found mine on Boat trader. The 21 Outrage is very similar and there seems to be more on the market. Let me know if you have any questions. Don

Try the Saltydog.com, you'll find by far more whalers there than on boattrader.com.
Good Luck

B Bear is right, but believe it or not keep your eye out for the evening capital newspaper, and last but not least the Severna Park PennySaver. I've seen well priced Whalers.

B Bear... I'm not familar with saltydog. But it does *not* look like www.saltydog.com which is the Salty Dog Inn. (where ever that is) What's the correct address?
