Just got my new Montauk, runs great, one silly question: How do you open the Igloo cooler? (without taking the cushion off)

I couldn't open mine after installing the console rod holders, turned it around so the latch faces aft and it opens with no problem.

Wow! That's one of those. . . "Why the **** didn't I think of that?" ideas.

Thanks, Dick.

Well, I'll be go to h_ll. I never thought of it either.

I'll try it as well, and it will keep anyone from bumping into the sharp edges of the darn latch with bare legs. Been there, done that and used the bandaid as a result.

I have to confess, I didn't come up with the idea myself. I think I read it here on the forum some time back.
Nice thing about this forum, lots of good ideas from people who have been there and done that.

That was an LHG insight. He has been quiet as of late......
On my Montauk(95) the 72 qt cooler opens to the front quite nicely.Right now it is sitting in the garage awaiting the spring ( or perhaps an early winter camping trip...it's a great cooler and a comfy seat!)
