Ebay has a boston whaler cuddy for about 8000. It seems like a lot of boat for the money. Does anyone have any thoughts on it. Are whaler cuddys not all that? Any basic flaws in their design? If you seen the boat, anything i'm missing about this one? It seems some smaller boats are going for about the same price.

Thanks, for you opinions
Al

The boat is a 2200 Temptation. This was Boston Whalers attempt at a performance/ski boat. They also made a 25' model. Both had Whaler Drives. Depending on the condition of the engines this could be a very good buy. You will need a trailer.

This model doesn't seem to be as popular as the Outrage or the Revenge. My guess would be because it is not as utilitarian. It looks like there is less cockpit space than the Revenge and the only access to the bow is through the hatch in the cabin.

A good description by Barry of the Temptation models. I have not been aboard one, but I too wondered how one was supposed to get on the foredeck. Going via a hatch is not too elegant.

The Temptation model also seems to be an attempt to compete with the popular "Euro boat design" of the 80's. My '86 Chris Craft sported the same awkward hatch entry to the roof of the cuddy. The design looks good, abit sexy, but is short on utility. On the other hand, the cuddy may have tremendous utility. I'm stopping before I go too far here.
