After I bought my old 17 from the back of a neighbor's yard, complete with leaves and rubbish, I really wanted to know some history on Whaler design. I found a very interesting article in Wooden Boat Magazine,
June 1991 edition, page 46 about the man who
helped originate the whole design ... Albert Hickman. I thought some of you might want to read it.

Thanks Tom. I read it today and am I very
interested in any Whaler history. I'm also
waiting for the sluggish mechanic to repair
my Merc 40 so I can get back in the water a

the saeson is over here on the Hudson in up-
state NY.
