Hi guys,

I want to redo the hull decals on my '89 Montauk. The only Whaler dealer within 50 miles of me is giving me the run around and has not had any for over 2 months.
Do any of you guys have an online source that I can order from?

Thanks all,

John from Madison CT

John -

I have an extra set of both the 14" long and the 18" long, If either of these will work let me know. I got one from Magicbrush and one is from John Herman Marine in Stamford (original BW stock).

Magic Brush -- email Janis or Tom with your specific needs --- good folks and they do very good work -- handle all Whaler's custom work ---

Guys,

Thanks. I measured the decals on the boat now and they are 28" long. Is this the normal size? I do like the way they look.

Ahoy, John. I emailed the people who always have the 14X3 decals on Ebay. They made me a set of the 30X6" decals for my OR-18 at a reasonable price. I'm sure they would do the same for you.

John - please send me the same info as I will probably redo mine... Saw one set on Ebay for the 14/3 decals for 9.99 starting bid out of Alabama. Not sure if those are the right... Can't measure mine cause the motor is getting checked out by mechanic. May try to get out once this weekend if it's not too cold - and probably taking safe boating class next month. Will let you know how it goes.

ChrisCT,

I emailed someguy from Ebay who says in his ad that he can make anysize decals. Just by coincidence the Whaler dealer in Branford, CT called me this morning saying they got in the 28" long decals. I should have asked for the price.

I'll let you know about the Ebay guy.

Take care,

John

Just measured mine - they are 14 by 3 and a little weathered... Will put new ones on after I shine her up. gonna start tomorrow. Wanted to get out once this year but the motor won't start but the mechanic said it looks like corroded wires and the engine seems fine. Gotta wait a few weeks to get it in better shape and then get it winterized. Anybody know if shrinkwrapping is worth it or what it should cost? Saw my old high school buddy at Marine sports Center Shrink wrapping the Fairfiled Police boats and was wondering if I should do it as it is going to be w/in a few inches of fiiting my 17' Montauk in the garage.

John - I'd strongly recommend Twin Cities Marine, a Whaler dealer. I bought a NEW set of official Whaler rubrails for my 13' for UNDER $100! Fast and easy, and Whaler brand. See this thread:

ChrisCT,

My '89 Montauk has the larger 28" long hull decals. The guy currently on Ebay wants $34 Delv. for them.
Anyone here know what a Whaler dealer gets for them?

John

I picked up my Whaler hull decals (28") from a Whaler dealer this morning for $23.32.

Not bad really considering it's a Whaler dealer. I'm not sure a graphics shop can make it any cheaper.
