I am thankful for my liberty.

I am thankful for the young men and women who are paying the price, again, in blood and lives, of that liberty.

I am thankful for the members of this forum for help, for allowing me to help, and for a good scrap now and then.

I am thankful, most of all , for those wonderful men and women, boys and girl (1), who are my descendants, my immortality, with whom I go to gather.

Red skies to you all tonight. . .
JB :)

JB most appropriate and very well expressed.

Your first two "thanks" struck a note at this time in our history, I recalled a poem which I have always found moving.

If I may indulge on your post. I would like to share it with you. I believe it is appropriate to the new found unity shared by all today. This Unity as a Nation we should all celebrate on this Thanksgiving day.

I hope you all will agree, Tom

The Republic from
"The Building Of The Ship"
by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Thou, too, sail on, O Ship of State!
Sail on, O Union, strong and great!
Humanity with all its fears,
With all the hopes of future years,
Is hanging breathless on the fate!
We know what Master laid the keel,
What Workmen wrought thy ribs of steel,
Who made each mast, and sail, and rope,
What anvils rang, what hammers beat,
In what forge and what a heat
Were shaped the anchors of thy hope!
Fear not each sudden sound and shock,
'Tis of the wave and not the rock;
'Tis but the flapping of the sail,
And not a rent made by the gale!
In spite of rock and tempest's roar,
In spite of false lights on the shore,
Sail on, nor fear to breast the sea!
Our hearts, our hopes, are all with thee,
Our hearts, our hopes, our prayers, our tears, Our faith triumphant o'er our fears,
Are all with thee, - are all with thee!

Thanks for expressing some thoughts and feelings on this Thanksgiving Day that are cogent, germane and better said I could have done-

You old seadog - you brought tears to my eyes.

Happy Thanksgiving, all!
