Typically by this time here in Maryland, we have had one light snow and the daytime temps are in the upper 40s to low 50s. So, by Thanksgiving, the Whaler is tucked in for the winter. This year is different. It has been dry and warm and I have been fishing with my 9 year old daughter almost every weekend since Labor day. Saturday, we were out on the Chesapeake again. There was no wind, no clouds, the water was flat and the temp was about 70 degrees. We were fishing over a wreck west of Eastern Bay and we caught over 30 perch in about an hour and half. The weather man is predicting a similar weekend again with temps around 60. If this keeps up, I am never gonna have time to get the projects, that I have lined up, done on the whaler. I was thinking of you poor souls out in the midwest when I saw the cold and snow that you were dealing with. It almost made me feel guilty to still be out there making wakes!
