My brother bought a 1995 Grady White Marlin 31 with twin 1995 250 Yammahas. BigZ was right on the money. This rig goes for 80K and the owner would not negotiate on price. He did come down 5K as long as they close before the end of the year.

They took the yacht for a sea trial yesterday. She is named 'Reel Pleasure' located in South Portland, Maine. It was 40 degrees and clear. My brother said they have 7 inches of snow today.

Ron Scanlan is the name of the surveyor he used and he would highly recommend him. Check out his website above.

I would like to thank everyone for all the good information I was able to pass on to my brother.

The closing was supposed to be this past Friday. My brother did a check on the registration and discovered that there was a lien against this boat.

This is probably a good thing to check especially on a more expensive used boat.

I got this information second hand from my Mom. I will ask my brother how he did the registration check.

Thanks for posting that interesting link. I had not seen that before. Here is a sample of the information you can find there, the record of a "hard luck" ship that sails the Great Lakes, the BUFFALO. See:
