Hi,I'm new to this board but have been reading quitely for past 3 months because I'm in the market for 23' Conquest. Got one question for you guys & girls who may know. The 23' Conquest is on Whaler's website but is absent in the 2002 printed catalog. Does anyone know if they will continue to produce this in 2002? I asked local dealer and they told me that the boat is orderable thru Dec. 31 2001 if I wanted one. Since you can't trust what a sales guy might say, I thought I check with people here. Thanks in advance.

If not in the catalog for 2002, and not being given a new 3 digit number name, I would assume it's being discontinued. Another of BW's fairly short lived designs. So if this boat is being dropped, I'll bet the 23 Outrage is not very far behind. |

User: Whalers were discontinued after about 1992-the new ones are a copy of a twenty year olld SeaRay design borrowed. I would expect the 'old' Whaler design will return... my side, fireball |

LHG,The 23 Outrage got blessed with the goose egg for 2002 so I guess it'll be around for at least another year. Maybe next year we'll see whether the Outrage 230 makes it to the next round to become the "Outrage 2300." |

Seems like whaler is getting rid of the smaller conquest series. Gone is the 21 and now the 23 will be gone. It will then be the 255, 275 and 295. I hate these 3 digit model numbers now !I like the 255. Its kinda big though. LOA is 26'11" and they now count the pulpit. Maybe you can find a deal out there in one of the dealerships. ken Ken |

Hi Ken,I saw the Conquest 255 two weeks ago at local dealer. That boat is beautiful but massive and out of my price range. Yeah, it's too bad about the smaller Conquests. I think this will be a hole in their product line up for other boat builders to fill. I can't imagine that many people would buy the Conquest 255 or larger ones. -Ivan |

The 255 Conquest is right at the maximum trailerable width, 8-ft 6-in. The larger models are wider than this and thus they are not really trailerable boats, except with special permits. The ability to be trailered or not sets quite a dividing line in the current catalogue of boats. (Here "trailered" means without highway permits for over-wide, etc.) |
