Has anyone had any experience with putting a bracket on an 18' OR. I'm concerned about changing the "center of gravity" and casuing the motor to be prone to being 'swamped'. I love the extra room of the bracket / closed transom. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance. |

Here are some pictures and commentary regarding brackets. The first link is the Cetacea section, showing the use of a “full” Armstrong Bracket, and the other link is to the Bracket Sub-Section of the Reference Section, jimh has created as a database for his loyal followers. Note, in the second link towards the end, that if you were to use a much shorter “set-back” bracket like the one shown here, you could not possibly have a better example of craftsmanship and detail like lhg’s.

Any other opinions?? I really like the room of the bracket and I'm doing some glass work anyway. |
