Watched a new release DVD last night, "What's the Worst that Could Happen", with Martin Lawrence and Danny Devito. There is a scene in chapter 30-1:25 has a 25' Challenger running in it. What beautiful classic lines! Too bad the recreational line changed.
I watched the scene 2-3 times, as my wife ridiculed me for being fixated on Whalers. Is that a such bad thing? I tried to reason w/her..."Honey, at least it's Whalers and not drugs, other women, ...."

This could be a good topic/subject to track: movies that have Whalers in them.
Of course STRIKING DISTANCE has to take first prize; the Whaler is practically on screen as much as the male star.

It was actually the classic episodes of Flipper that got me started on my fascination with Whalers. They had that old tiller Mercury--really moved pretty quick. I was always amazed at how they could climb in and out of such a small boat and not have it flip over (most of my experience was with jon boats).
Interestingly enough, in the later episodes, they took a paint brush and crudely marked out the Whaler symbol. Anyone know if there was a quarrel with the company?
