seagull	posted 01-23-2002 01:22 PM ET (US)             Went to the local Whaler dealer here in south Louisiana and looked at his personal Montauk troll motor setup. He made an aluminum plate that looked to be 3/6" thick to cover the whole step pad on the bow and through bolted on the lip that sticks outboard of the hull with three counter sunk s.s. screw head bolts(1/4 or 3/8) and painted it to match the hull color. Troll motor bolts go on the back side and or installed before the plate is bolted down. I may go by ther tommorrow and try to get some pictures of his setup and take some measurements.
