Does anyone have any suggestions for what trolling motor is best for 17' Striper. thanks, John

Ahoy, John. You don't say what you plan to do with it; really troll or positioning.

Went to the local Whaler dealer here in south Louisiana and looked at his personal Montauk troll motor setup. He made an aluminum plate that looked to be 3/6" thick to cover the whole step pad on the bow and through bolted on the lip that sticks outboard of the hull with three counter sunk s.s. screw head bolts(1/4 or 3/8) and painted it to match the hull color. Troll motor bolts go on the back side and or installed before the plate is bolted down. I may go by ther tommorrow and try to get some pictures of his setup and take some measurements.
