I've got and older whaler, I believe it is a Katoma?(sp?)The stenciled # on the transom is 3A1749. It is in pretty good shape with some gelcoat cracks on the light blue interior, a side console with a canvas dodger, teak forward hatch cover, teak side panels and the bed rail, welded rails on the side. Pretty much original with original stern light, bowlight and hand held spotlight. A '70 model I think with a '72 85 HP Merc that runs well although a fuel hog as all 2 strokes were back then...can anyone give me some info on this boat??? All comments appreciated.

I bought a restored Katama last summer (hull id 3A1901), have been fixing it up for coastal fishing. I'd be interested to see how yours is rigged.
The previous owner covered over the blue interior with white epoxy, though the blue shows in a few spots where the epoxy has chipped off.

I'm going down to Mexico Beach tonight, will try to get some pic's and post them for you to look at. As far as I know this boat is original down to the dodger on the console. I'll post them Monday when I get back.

Howdy, Ferris. If all of the wood in your Katama is original, it is mahogany. Sounds like you got an excellent investment.

Red sky at night. . .
