Hello, This nonsense about a "170" Whaler is just that nonsense! The "170" refers to the Montauk there is no new hull called the "170"! We have the 170 Montauk for 2002 and from the prices I have seen from 3 boat shows many dealers are offering a package priced at $24 to $25 thousand in round figures. R.J. Dougherty Associates, Inc Everglades Boats is a new line designed by industry veteran Bob Dougherty and his son Stephen. The hull combines the running characteristics of a catamaran along with the stability and shallow water performance of a flat bottom boat. Everglades merges the advantages of their recently patented RAMCAP manufacturing process with the new hull design to create an inshore, shallow water bay type boat. This manufacturing process combined with a new assembly process creates a synergistic effect that delivers a high quality, very strong, unsinkable hull that is finished both inside and out. Marrying the new process and new hull design are creating an exciting new way to build boats, a first in the marine industry. Miami Boat Show booth 3880 Above is a news/press release from the MBShow Below may or may not be part of Buckley's revolutionary new engine statements, though I think it is one of the items he was referring to. Cummins Marine, a division of Cummins Inc., and Mercury Marine, a division of Brunswick Corp., have formed of a 50/50 joint venture to supply integrated diesel propulsion systems to the worldwide recreational and commercial marine markets, the companies announced Thursday, 14 February. The joint venture, Cummins MerCruiser Diesel Marine LLC, will be headquartered in Charleston, South Carolina, and expects to have 120 employees. |

Wow, They are a lot lighter weight; it will be interesting to see the hull shape out of the water. Must be more like '70s Outrage. Jim, maybe you could get them on "Classic Radio" |

SO I WILL ASK AGAIN! Has anyone actually gone to the Miami boat show? And if so did you go to the whaler booth. Let's hear it from the sources mouth not from someone who has not gone to the show and read some releases. How about some pictures from the show! Thank you! |
