Lifting Eyes on 15' BW

This summer, I plan to design a simple lift system (hanging from the "I" beams in our boathouse), to keep the boat dry during the work weeks. The boat would be hanging just out of the water. My question is: is it O.K. to leave the boat hanging by it's lift eyes, particularly with a 300lb. engine on the transom?

Yes, thousands before you have done just this.

Suggestion: Attach lift hooks to inside of stern eyes! If you hook to the outside eyes the hook and cable will chafe and damage the transom. Happy Whalin'.. Clark.. Spruce Creek Navy
