I'm thinking of buying an underseat tank for my 13' sport. I can get a tempo 12gal from Boater's world for $107. I want a Pate, but I just found out they are $300 <gulp>. I'm not sure if I want to put that much into a tank. I've also heard the Moellers are better then the Tempos. Any truth to that rumor? I can get a 12gal Moeller for $97 plus deliv. from Cabela's. Any suggestions? Ideas? Good vs Bad? Just for the record, I'm kinda leaning towards the Tempo, since I can just go to Boater's World and pick it up.

Tabasco, lol...Keep this in mind: I want to upgrade eventually to a nice Nauset/Eastport/Sekonnet/Montauk. I'm keeping this boat until a good one comes along. I not sure if I'll ever get my $300 back out of it. |

Fly,Buy the cheapest tank you can find and go use your Whaler. I have a 8 gallon Tempo in my 13. The tank isn't tied down and it does fine. If I need more range I throw in a 5 gallon jerry jug. But then again, if you want the Pate and have the disposable income for it, go ahead and get it. The boat will do quite fine with a Tempo though. Dave S. San Diego |

Unless putting it under front seat, 2 6gals is plenty in a 13. As far as your quetion goes...Pate is the best. If not planning on keeping it, keep the 6's. |

I just installed a 12 gal.Moeller from Cabella's and I agree the quality is better than the Tempo. It fits nicely under the front seat of my 1978 13 footer. My goal is to shift weight forward to keep the foot of the 40 hp Yamaha out of the water when it is docked during the week. |

If you own a Whaler you should like a quality product. Pate is the best Plastic/fiber tank you can buy. No you don't have to find Rod to get one, just call Pate 305-754-0896 Pate Plastics 360 NW 71st St. Miami Fl 33150 |

do yourself a favor and get a pate. i bought a tempo for my whaler and w/in a year the seals around the fuel hose crapped out. took a while to figure out how i kept getting water in my gas tank and ended up getting the crabs rebuilt twice. got a pate and it has held up well. |
