I am about to purchase a 1996 21' Outrage. I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on this particular model. Is this the 2001 Justice? Please help with any information you can. Thank you.

As far as I know they're the same model. Of all the "new" Whalers this is probably the best one, and the only one I would truly consider for myself. A true deep V hull that can handle the really rough stuff. Very, very solid boat. Still expensive though... and hard to find with twin engines (150's). The best combination.

Hope this helps...

The 1996 Outrage hull is the same hull as the current Justice model. From looking at the Justice on the Whaler website, it appears that the fish boxes on the Justice have been shortened a couple of feet, but other than that, it looks the same. The specifications they list for the Justice match those of my 1995 21 Outrage.

I own a 94 21 ft Outrage and she is a fantastic boat. My only regret is I don't have twin, which I will get when I repower.
It does well with 200 hp. Enjoy

I own a 1997 Outrage 21 with a 250hp Yammi on the back. When I ordered the boat I had to specify whether or not I wanted the transom notched for a single or twins. I ordered the transom for the twins (even though I have a single) for two reasons. 1-It is much easier to drag a gaffed 70# wahoo "through" the transom rather than up and over the side, and 2-I wanted the option of being able to go with twins once and if my trusty Yamaha gives out (which looks like no time soon). As far as performance goes: Typical top speed is 60mph (I have a factory T-top) although I have seen 65mph (GPS numbers) with about 17 gallons left in the 121 gallon tank and no one but me on board. Cruises at about 35-40mph depending fuel and passengers. Only complaint is the usual bow rise with a full load on board. It is a great hull. Hope that helped.
