Yesterday, I was searching thru some old Whaler files, and came across the origonal art for a pennant flag. I guess what really interested me were the specfications. Grey in color, with burgundy copy. But get this, both sides are different, and they are embroidered. Thus, The material had to be stitched with the copy, then stitched together, then hemmed and grommetted. Art is dated back in 12-18-86. Does anyone have one of these? Did they come with a certain model of boat? Or did one have to purchase one? I could only imagine what they went for in the 80's let alone what one would cost now...Ya'll take care,
Janis

Janis,

I do have one of these pennants. Unfortunately, I cannot answer your questions. It was given to me by the owners of West Shore Marine in Douglas, MI who were a whaler dealer for over thirty years. The marina was being torn down to make way for condos. I was so beside my self with grief when the owners announced that they had sold the marina that the owners took pity on me and give me the pennant, a sign from the marina and a whaler baseball cap. Yes, I am another whaler fanatic.

The pennant is just as you describe. Grey with burgundy copy embroidered on and both sides are different.

Pete

PS: I am guarding the pennant with my life ;-)

Janis, My 1979 Revenge V-22 that I just purchased has a hole in the center of the bow rail to mount a pole for pennant. I was thinking of having a friend embroider them for me.. Dave

Before you have your friend make you one, give my office a call and we'll discuss this.

Janis,

After you have an opportunity to discuss the pennant with Drisney, would you mind providing the other participants with pricing information?

Paul

Janis- I'd be interested in purchasing the pennant as well. '86 OR with bow rail hole to mount the pennant. Please advise. David

There is a local embroider in town that also already has Whaler account, so next time I'm in Daytona, I will take the pattern and find out what we can do.

Janis
