After 15 years of land-lubbering, (tags on the license plate were '87) I got to drop my Menemsha into the Pacific today. Equipped with a brand new 2002 Honda 90 hp and a springfield marine jack plate, (thanks lhg) I spent the afternoon breaking everything in on a 70+ sunny day here on the oregon coast.
Guys, does it get any better than this?

No, it doesn't. I'm still sanding my mahogany and it's 40f outside.

Hey Whaletale (formerly Whalerfreak):
Congrats. You need to send some photos of the "sha." I may be one of the only people to have seen your complete restoration including every bit of teak on the boat, including the custome whaler logos routed into the teak.
After 15 years of no water, some shots of this beauty would be great to see in the Cetacea section.

You have inspired me as I am getting my '68 Menemsha ready to get her bottom wet again after 10 years of landlocked travel (CT/TX/MA!!!).
Look forward to seeing some pics!

Great!! I've only seen pictures of Menemshas. They really look cool.

I changed my name because there was a guy on the forum who was a true freak (nuts), but now I forgot that password. Hey Jim, could you help me out ? I'd like to get that one back.

Congrats! I just went through a similar 'dry' period. I just went 8 whole years without a Whaler. I just bought a 91 Montauk in February this year and have had it out 2 times already. You're right, it doesn't get any better than being on the water in your Whaler.
I would like to see some digital photos of your boat posted!

Whaletail - Let us know how you like the bracket with the 4-stroke. Your boat sounds really beautiful.
