Looking at 1988 25' WT with twin 115 Yamaha's and whaler drive. It is a just retired sheriff's boat, fresh water and has a custom hard-top structure with canvas. One powerhead has just been replaced and the other is in very good cond. Hull needs some buffing and cleanup and few nicks and scratches. Radio and other electronics seem to be gone. No trailer. Is $20,000 a decent price? a steal? or a risk?
Thanks for your opinion? Also thanks jimh for getting us back on line...

Maybe a bit under powered? Other Revenge owners may know better.

25 Revenge WT is a great boat. I've had a 22 and a 25 now, but a 25 with 115s is going to be a dog. My 22 had 115s and it was fine, but a 25, yikes.
My current 25 WT has 150s and I'd still like a little more. I've driven a 25 with twin 140s and that was acceptable.

Whats it worth? Hard to say, a good Revenge WT is hard to find and are usually more than 25K, but average ones with average powerplants can be had in a number of places for 20K. It sounds about average, just be sure of the engine condition, as re-powering a HUGE money.

There is a nice one with OK power for sale in CT and a beater in MA.

I'd say explore the options, it isn't a great bargain.

Have fun!

Mike: Was the Beater in Mass structurally sound? Did you check the transom? I am thinking of going to check it out. I have to haul alot of stuff out to the island here in Casco Bay so mint cosmetic condition is not that important to me.
