I am thinking about installing a keel guard for my 15 Sport.I have regelled my keel about 4 times since I have owned and it is getting old. Part is priced just over a hundred bucks and if was helpful it would be worth it but any comments would be appreciated !

Guys:

I have installed 3 Keelguards to date, one on my 13, 15 & new 17. Read all instructions carefully. What helped me allot was to trace the Keelguard on a pc of tracing paper and then match it up to the keel and see exactly the best position for it. I then would trace the exact position on to the keel itself. One word of caution once you stick any pc of the keelguard on to the hull that where it;s gonna stay, like it or not, so be sure you position it correctly
the first time.

Good luck, Fred

Has anyone had to remove a "keel guard" to make repairs near it? Everything I have read about the keel guard says that once it touches the keel, it is there to stay. You cannot adjust it. With this in mind, are you going to be removing gelcoat to remove the keel guard? Anyone with experience on removing a keel guard?

David
