Noticed some reference to Gloucester MA. I am buying my first boat '88 Newtauk and would appreciate any info about trailering a 17' and launching on Cape Ann. Hope to have it ready end of May. I plan to fish and have never boated in the surrounding waters. Any info woulf be helpful. Thanks in advance

John, Met you and your wife today while you checking out your dockage! Welcome to boating! And in your case, being a "mudda". For the best and easy to read tide charts for Cape Ann go to: www.maineharbors.com where you will find tides for not only Gloucester Harbor but also for the Annisquam river.Having your boat on the mud at low tide does at times foul up your schedule as I found out last year. One thing going for you is the design of a Whaler hull with it's shallow draft. That paddle will come in handy! One other thing I should mention: you should place your orange inflatble buoys in a way so that your rubrail doesn't get caught under the float edge when the tide comes up! See ya down at the "dock"
