Last week my console cover & RPS arrived from Mills. I specifically informed them that I was installing a Pate fuel tank under the seat and that I was concerned that if their cover went down to the deck it wouldn't fit(the Pate tank sticks out behind the PRS seat). They said no problem that the rear section is open and has ties. They told me that they had sent a man to the Whaler dealer in Connecticut to measure the new Montauk and and its all been loaded into the computer to cut the patterns.
May I suggest that they hire someone new to do the measuring. First since I hadn't installed the Pate tank at the time the covers arrived I just slipped it over the seat.Well to my amazement the cover did not fit over the existing two 6 gallon tanks. There were no rear ties as stated.the cover went completely down to the deck. The factory installation of the two 6 gallon tanks stick out in the rear of the seat and the cover does not fit over them.WHAT WERE THEY THINKING???
The console cover is just fair as it fits very loosely over the console and looks like a catalogue cover "one fits all" center consoles cover. If that was the look I wanted I could have just ordered it from a catalogue for one third the price. The Sun top from the BW factory is looking much better these days ;-)
I will be on the phone with MILLS first thing Tuesday morning to voice my complaints. I will post my findings on the forum.
