Thanks Jim for the 'Flanders Fields'. We should always remember the men and women who give us the freedoms to enjoy or country and our whalers.
Took my children to an inland lake for a couple of hours, then a cookout.
You cannot appreciate this country until you travel outside it's borders.
Enjoy it.

Add my thanks, Jim.

My step-father was gassed at Flanders. He was an ambulance driver and wouldn't stop to put on his mask.

He survived the war and suffered from chronic asthma, morphine addiction and regular bouts of pneumonia for another 20 years before it finally killed him. I consider him a war casualty.

He ran away from home and joined the Canadian Army at age 14 to go fight in Europe. It is men like him who have bought and rebought our precious liberty.

It is fitting that we honor them and all those who went before and followed since.

Red sky at night. . .

Lest we never forget the freedoms we enjoy in this Country. There are those who would like nothing better than to take that freedom away from us, to make us live in fear. We, as a Country, must not let those evils and evil doers cause us to lose sight of the fact that we live in the greatest Country in the world. We are not perfect, but we enjoy the liberties only because of the sacrifices of those who have gone before us, as well as the sacrifices of the families who survive our heros. We remember...God Bless the USA!
