Boat is '87 OR18--would like to change from over gunnel strap to transom tie downs to secure the boat to the trailer. How do you accomodate the swim platform? Can you recommend a source of non-marring transom straps?

Thanks for your help.

Overton's has real nice 2" transom straps, with SS hooks and SS high leverage Kwik-Lock strap (same as BW's battery box strap), for about $30.

I use a pair of these and they are excellent.

Can the "thru and over the gunnel" straps be used for tying down? Those cleats inside the boat look real beefy but my manual said not to use them for towing, so it seems using them to secure a 1500 pound package to the trailer is also bad. I only use this cleat for tying the docking ropes to the boat. Is this right?
