Getting a Bimini top tomorrow and just wondering if i should mount on the top just inside of the rub rail or 8" down on the ledge on the inside of the boat (name of the side of the boat escapes me at the moment) I think mounting on the inside ledge would be better, any opinions?
TIA
James

Placing the mounting hardware down on the inside of the gunwales will probably help keep it clear of fishing lines, etc. But most Bimini tops are seem to be made with specific locations for the mounting brackets, so be sure you have this kind of leeway before you install.

I mounted mine last year up on the top of the gunnel. I am not sure if there is any advantage one way or the other. I have mine on a track so that when it is closed and booted it slides to clear the front bow railing. That gets it completely out of the way. Ken

Well just put it together and its goint to have to mount on top of the gunnels as its a little to wide for the insides. I like the sliding idea.
thanks for the posts
James
