Tonight on TNT channel 138 on dish network at 8pm central time is 'striking distance'
Bruce Willis is a pittsburg aqua cop who drives a Whaler Gurdian 22 with lots of cool rigging and police lights.
I'm watching it now.

I now think that it is a guardian 27.
There are some beautiful shots of the boat cruising at high speed.
The editors added a stupid turbine engine sound to the sound track to make the engines sound high tech.

I watched it to for the millionth time!! I live in Pittsburgh(there is an "h" on the end) and love the Whaler(Classic) shots. I see them running them boats once and a while live and on the news(not usually for the good in this instance). Jack.

I noticed one fatal error near the end of the movie. When Willis's character takes off in the 19' guardian the show a close-up of the throttleS. That boat had a single 150 so there should have been only one trim switch and throttle. Critical I know but I am a stickler for details like this especially with whalers.

Sorry whalernut about spelling Pittsburgh wrong.
How did you like the fake turbine engine sound?
That was goofy that at the end he was driving a single engine guardian.
It looked like a Guardian 27 most of the movie. Am I correct?
That was a beautiful boat. My dream boat is a guardian 25 with twin 4cycle yammies on the back.
The name is going to be AQUACOP in big graphics on the side.
I wonder if I can get busted for having that name for the boat? :)

I noticed the dual controls last night as well when he was chasing the woodie. That 27 had to be a slug with only 300hp on it, maybe had a turbine, just to get on plane:) Sarah looked good as usual and Bruce still had hair. Pity that Frasier's dad got shot by his own brother. Glad to see he pulled through or else Frasier would have no dad.

Man those 150's looked like 15's on that big whaler! Good shots throughout the movie. Lets someone with a smaller whaler see how the bigger ones perform. Only problem I had is they must have dubbed out the true sound of the outboards, cause when Bruce sped off or slowed down, it sounded more like the Bat Mobil than an outboard powered boat!

I've been terrible at this lately, sorry.

Wow--thanks for bringing this topic up again. I was getting pretty bored hanging around waiting for it to revive me.
You know why they had to dub the sound of the outboards, don't you? Cuz they were OMC's! If they had real outboards on those Whalers they could have used their actual sound. But OMC's, you gotta dub in something.

Real outboards are Yammies!
I thought the fake engine sound was hilarious!!
