Just wondering. . . has anyone ever heard of a Whaler Renken? Saw one advertised and thought I'd check....

I have heard of Renken boats. They are made in Charleston, SC. My father-in-law had one. They had a reputation of being mid to low priced.

Exactly the case.... The seller had it billed as a "whaler renken". With my vast lack of experience I took this to mean that whaler must have made a renken model. I never went and looked at the boat but from the owner's description I believe it must have been very "mid to low priced". Definately not a Whaler! Thanks again for your response and for your patience.

I bought a new 17 Renken back in the mid 60s
with a Johnson O/B (don't remember the H.P.}
It was a good boat. Not a Whaler but at the time I was happy.
