Davem	posted 08-02-2002 11:36 PM ET (US)         I know the subject seems to sound a little lude but I am seriously concerned about possible problems. I'm looking at a "71" 13' Sport and am wondering if the "94" Mariner w/ a 20" shaft will function well without raising it on the transome as I saw it done in the Catea pages on a "62" Sport. I'd appreciate any advice from those of you who may have experience with this type of quesiton/problem Thansk....
KeysNole	posted 08-04-2002 01:08 AM ET (US)             From what I understand, you don't want to do it. I have been told you will lost speed and control, and that it's just not worth it. My advice would be to look into a manual jack plate. They are fairly cheap for a motor that small.
JFM	posted 08-04-2002 09:48 PM ET (US)             Davem, All you have to do is bolt the 20" motor on the lowest bolt holes of the motor and raise it up. If you want you can use a block of wood to raise the transom, build the transom up (pain in the butt) or use a jack plate. This would not keep me from buying the boat if everthing else is in good condition. Regards, Jay
