Me and the wife are taking the Montauk(girlfriend) up to Homassasa springs this weekend for a scalloping trip. Taking another couple and meeting up with Swellmonster and maybe a few others. Should be fun swimming with the manatees and going to all the waterfront restaurants, etc. What could be better than spending your birthday with your favorite two girls?

It would be better if one would stop complaining about the time you spend with the other.

How was the boat traffic in the river? Haven't been in the water there in many years. Was planing to go the week before you were but I used two fingers to keep the truck door from slamming to hard. Reason I ask is I have had it with the Tampa Bay area and am thinking of moving to Homossasa or Yankeetown. Someone mentioned several months back that the rever was crowded all the time. How'd ya do with the clammin? Nice birthday getaway. Bill C

River traffic is OK. River is narrow so it seems more congested. You will have to spend some time up there before you decide to move. Great place but would not want to live there.

Probably going up next week though without my baby (whaler) because of banged up finger. Going to spend a night and take a hard look around. Yankee Town is still appealing.Dunellen is kind of neat also. Fresh water. I grew up on the gulf de mexico so that is not to appealing. Decisions, decisions. Thanks for the info.

Not much is fresh water up there, only the last 1/2 mile or so. Rent a boat for a couple hours and take a run. Aint worth going up without a boat.....nothing to do but drink......on land......without a boat! Geez, almost had a panic attack there.
