Hoping to get your Ideas or reasons for Trim tabs on 1996-1999 outrages. I like them on most boats in open water, but what do you think. If yes, what type of systems works well on Whalers? Thanks For your Ideas !!!

A case of overkill. Even timmed all da way in and runnin' wide open wid da 150 'till she's almost plowin' up da bay wid da bow, deys not enough torque on da 18' t'make controllin' 'er a problem. Given da heftier 19', even less a problem. Mebby jez stand to da up-hill side'da wheel yerself or ask you're fattest companion to sit ova der on the deck 'till ya don't need to plow no more furrow and you gots all yer seed in. Now, if you's only gots one arm or you's commonly lettin' a li'l girl hold da wheel under dese conditions, yer trim tabs might come in handy. Otherwise, spend da money on beer. Keep it simple. If yer tryin' ta squeez annudder 1/4 mile per gallon out wid da tabs, mebby ya should jez stay home an' count ur silver.

I have Lenco electric tabs on my Outrage 22 (12x12E); I like them a lot and I like them better than hydraulics because especially in an Outrage, space is limited for things like the pump that hydraulics require. To say nothing of the fact that electrics operate faster and are simpler to install. Prices are generally comparable.
