Honda is coming out with the best 13 classic Whaler engine to ever hit the market. It is a new 20 hp that looks just like the new honda 9.9 with the styling. The best part is that it only weighs 109lb for the 15-inch model. Mercury's 25 two stroke is 120lbs. Having this light weight beautiful engine on the back of a nice 13ft classic whaler would be a great combo.

Is not 20hp a little light for a 13?

110#'s is very light for a 20hp 4-stroke.

Just a nice little cruiser. I like them with 40hp but I would also like a second 13 with a 20hp for quiet cruising and trailering across the country.

First post on this great forum.
I know the 15-HP Honda four stroke is 101#.
I would think though 20-HP would be a little lacking.

A vintage Evinrude looks quite nice on the transom of a vintage Whaler, too.

Lacking......Nah! My 1982 25hp makes approx 20-22 modern hp and she runs almost 30mph. I think that 20 would be great for those who do not carry heavy loads or waterski.

bigshot, your right, it all depends on what your use is. with the chance of having 3 or more people aboard it might be nice to have a little more power. but this is coming from someone who likes to go fast.

I saw one at the boat show about 2 weeks ago. I think It would be a better for an 11' more then a 13'. I would really consider it if I had not just repowerd my 11' an 11 is rated for a 20hp.
